Sinking ship.

Pros

Reasonable flexibility in work hours, not micro-managed, decent pay, pretty good benefits.

Cons

Morale is spiraling downward: no bonus this year in spite of $1B profit, 10% of the workforce being laid off with little or no notice, employees forced to replace their overseas outsourced replacements in order to get their meager severance pay, executive management making millions while everyone else's salaries are stagnant and our stock price is falling continuously. Constant reorg over the last 2 years has everyone confused and disorganized.

Pros

On the levels of specialists through directors, employees embrace the opportunity to do good and meaningful work. They are smart, creative, hard-working and truly care about improving lives by building great teaching and learning tools.

Cons

Endless and confused reorganizations. A very real sense that the company is panicked and directionless. There is bitterness among many employees/ex-employees who feel that the company does not invest in helping them to remain relevant in whatever that new company will be. For an education company, this is ironic. Also, the quality of products--and the quality of work life--has deteriorated significantly with the move to outsourcing.

Pros

Used to be a great company - really cared for its employees and their families. Had a wonderful work atmosphere where employees respected each other.

Cons

Now ruled by the almighty Dollar and would prefer to have young employees with no common sense than hold on to its seasoned employees who could mentor the newer staff and also provide knowledge and insight to products.
