Lack of direction

Pros

Small company if you like to be under the scope and intend to grow

Cons

- Also being a small company is a con, you are scrutinized by everything and anything. If they don’t like you you are done. - Pays less than industry standard - The team bickers a lot on disagreements during meetings. (This was the first time I started to feel weird coming from a huge company) - Management literally can shut you down in a meeting. - I regretted leaving my previous job when during the onboarding process I had to follow up on documents required and start date. - Unstructured - No clear plan on what your goals are - No direction on your day to day tasks. - no trust whatsoever on you to perform your job. Basically you don’t have a chance. Overall my time there since day 1 was terrible. I went through the worse depression just by sitting on the meetings to levels I couldn’t even do my job as the outstanding performer I had been for years on my previous employments. Luckily I went to my manager on my previous employer and due to excelling on my performance I got rehired. (I guess The grass is not always greener on the other side)

Pros

- Almost fully remote job with only a few days required in the office per month - Supportive management that cares if you are happy with your job and are learning - Free access to Udemy courses for career development - High pay compared to the many other companies that I looked at and I interviewed at - Nice location next to the Redwood City Harbor and near downtown Redwood City

Cons

- Smaller company so not many chances to network - Snacks are not free (but are discounted)
