Pros

Stock price remains high and they pay relatively well compared to peers.

Cons

50% of the company has been there less than 5 years. Let that sink in. The people on top do not like company - yet they are under pressure to innovate so they wipe out teams and rebuild them with outside talent. The result is the middle layer of people with working knowledge can be completely neutralized in the course of a meeting. Lots of new people showing up at the middle top - mostly cast offs from failed peers. These newbies struggle for several months, make broad changes (layoffs) without even getting to know their people, then hire their buddies/vendors from the previous company. It's a tired old cycle, one that plagued Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and even GE. They lack a way to create leaders and are constantly looking to Free Agents to fix them. Consultants are having a field day here...we are talking 7 figures in each division because the leaders are simply political survivors with eyes on their own board seats elsewhere and retirement...they can't actually make leadership decisions.

Pros

They give you a check for working and are good at setting up your desk the way you want it.

Cons

You know something is wrong before you even get to the first day on the job because they are a technology company using 20 year old technology to implement their GUI - MFC. Next the industry reputation is that Rockwell is not the home to top talent - well duh.... top talent does not want to develop in MFC. This might be a viscous cycle that all comes down to how they treat people. It's no secret that many people worked there for decades and Rockwell tried to swindle folks near retirement age out of employment benefits. It could come in many forms like giving the employee way too much work to do and an impossible deadline or the opposite - starving the employee giving them nothing to do at all hoping that they would quit in these circumstances. Typical corporate America here making short term decisions and never thinking about the long term effects. Sure they will question your loyalty when you interview there but if they can find a way to successfully be anti-American and replace you with foreigners they will do it in a second. Zero loyalty for the people who make them great.

Pros

Honestly, since Rockwell came and wiped out Plex's culture, there is no true "pros."

Cons

Rockwell decided to purchase a bunch of companies but it was more so other companies couldn't acquire them. Due to the sheer amount of companies they bought in such a short amount of time, they had no true plan on how to grow them. Due to this, they are burning all of them to the ground and pretending everything is fine. They got rid of the culture of each one of them, turned them into an "old school sales" mentality, and sliced everyone's budgets and expected them to deal with it. Now they are going through laying off ~900 employees, some of which have been with the company for 15+ years.
