Pros

I like the people I work with and the good customers you get are a delight.

Cons

Employees who have worked for the company for years are making the same amount as employees who have just started. They have these same employees doing the same work a key holder does. Training is not done properly. The rules are never the same from one day to the next. Managers are rude and unprofessional. Store maintenance is rarely ever done. They have a great focus on their customers but when it comes the their employees they couldn't care less.

Pros

The flexibility of a part-time job and the people who come looking for shoes.

Cons

There were abusive managers that picked on me and others, and even customers behind their backs. It was a very demeaning culture as far as those two individuals went. The customers were the high lite of the work days and they were the ones who brought any light into the place. Otherwise it is very, very mundane work. The company is one those that brags about providing Wisconsin jobs. That's not exactly the case, and it is dishonest on their part. Basically Rogan's hires a bunch of part of time college students. All of the jobs they brag about providing probably average out to 10 hours per employee. Those who end up stuck in the job until they become managers (keys) are scarcely paid enough to get by in life. If you can work your way past that, after 10-15 years on the job, there are District Manager opportunities that may let you cross the $30-35,000 mark. Positions on the top go mostly to members of the Rogan klan. As for how many jobs they provide for decent hard-working Wisconsin residents...that provide an actual living, hah... The company competes by utilizing college students who they will never have to worry about providing full hours or any costs that go with long term employment. I had bought my shoes from them for over a decade and after I saw how they treat their workers, I have regretted ever letting money go their way. If you're a college student it probably won't be a problem, but keep in mind that Rogan's doesn't provide viable employment. Watch out for the alcoholic managers too...
