Forcing the entire company back into the office 3 days a week to justify a renovation throughout Somerset HQ. Most jobs can be done at home with the exception of entry level positions..Seems like they’re trying to push everyone out so that they don’t have to pay them severance for layoffs. Glint surveys have meant literally nothing- they’ve not taken any feedback seriously. You feel underpaid? Here’s two “wellness days” instead of actual living wages so that we can pretend we took your feedback seriously. Too much change all at once. Thai is either going public in 2025 or selling the company. She’s making horrible decisions that alienate top talent and they’re fleeing in droves. I can probably count on one hand how many people are happy here. Company AHODs chats have become a venting session for disgruntled employees, and even that doesn’t signal to leadership that change is needed. Now we just don’t use the chat option to prevent an uprising. Personally, I’m actively seeking employment elsewhere and I would advise all current employees to do so as well. Things are not getting any better.

I used to love my job....

Pros

The people are great, I have built great relationships with my coworkers and everyone is always willing to help. Can't say the same about upper management though.

Cons

The company culture used to be great, the pay was competitive, there were always events and activities going on at work, then covid happened. We had record profits during lockdown and you would think that would make them want to keep working that way. nope, they are slowly forcing us to come back into the office full time, they basically gave us a pay cut by not adjusting raises for inflation, they continue to ignore all employee feedback, and keep throwing money at new ideas that eventually fail or frivolous things instead of paying their employees fairly and fixing the never ending list of problems with supporting departments. They are about to find out what happens when you don't make employee satisfaction a priority. Everyone I knew from my first few years has since left SHI. CEO and Exec board are a bunch of wealthy boomers that are out of touch with reality and refusing to adapt to a post pandemic world.
