Poor management in Accounting Department

Pros

The company offers a wide range of exceptional benefits that greatly contribute to the overall employee experience. In addition, the organization demonstrates a robust financial standing, which instills confidence and stability in its operations. Moreover, the company boasts a highly talented and cohesive workforce, making it a pleasure to collaborate with colleagues and fostering a positive work environment.

Cons

These remarks are specific to the Accounting team. While I acknowledge that other teams may have different experiences, it is evident that the Accounting team is facing significant challenges due to ineffective leadership and a lack of leadership skills and interpersonal acumen. The turnover rate within our department is unprecedented, with individuals rarely remaining in their positions for more than 12 months. Disturbingly, approximately 10 individuals who were hired within the past year have already left, placing an additional burden on those who remain. In any other organization, it would be expected that the CFO would face scrutiny regarding their inadequate hiring practices and lack of mentorship and management.

I think there is better

Pros

I work in the main office not in the field. Everyone is seemingly nice. Free lunches and a hybrid schedule.

Cons

There are a few. I was really shocked how low the pay is for most of the people who do the majority of the work. My pay is pretty low but I of course knew that going in and I'm on the bottom level of my chain. Even up this chain it doesn't seem like much of a great salary especially living in California. With how often it's touted that the company is growing, I'm not sure why the wages aren't. What's worse is I think they pay their field technicians around $20 an hour and for what is asked of them doesn't seem worth it to me. They don't seem to know what's going on? They're still trying to find their footing with generally being organized. Lots of top level talking heads which is always weird. Their internal systems are terribly outdated technology wise. Diversity and Inclusion is not talked about much but they have started a committee so we'll see where that goes. I think they require some employees to be in the office more days during the week than people who are higher up or who have been there the longest. This is kind of unfair. Generally it kind of feels like everyone is winging it. Their communication and procedures are kind of all over the place.

Pros

There are no pros to working with this company

Cons

There is no way to move up in this organization unless you're a family member of the senior superintendents. The upper management is only out for themselves, and are all about money. They take from the less fortunate such as work hours, wages, or even knowledge, and make it their own. They also put people that do not have licenses or certifications in positions that are supposed to have them, and then lie to the project owners about the types of expertise these people have. Basically, it is all chalked up to upper management not being able to handle the neglectful type atmosphere that they have built. Apparently, there are only two ways you can get into a higher position: be deceitful and the senior superintendents reward you, or be a family member. If you have a mind or any real knowledge, don't bother applying for positions at this company.
