My time with the company started off strong, but the last six months became extremely difficult due to poor leadership. Despite repeatedly asking for support and clarity around expectations, leadership consistently failed to provide either. Requests for help were ignored, and I was eventually terminated for “performance” reasons—despite being reassured previously that my job was not at risk.
The manager, who was the CIO, demonstrated favoritism when assigning workloads, had me managing 13 projects while other project managers handled 7–8. He (the CIO) also frequently expressed negative views on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), which created an unprofessional and discouraging environment.
Because my manager was the CIO, there was no real avenue to raise these concerns or seek protection. Ultimately, the lack of communication, fairness, and accountability left me feeling unsupported and blindsided.
