A circus with no substance

Pros

Even Twitter's 140 characters are more than what's needed to describe the pro's. Nine characters are enough: free food.

Cons

It's honestly difficult to pick where to start. In order to provide a service to people who may be entertaining a position with this company, and to redeem myself from having actually helped hired people into this disaster of an organization, please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. If you are already talking to them, run as fast as you can. This is an utterly mediocre company. Everything that this company does is subpar. And it's quite pathetic to watch these people run around acting so busy, looking so important, working such long hours, only to deliver an output that is sophomoric and non-value adding - on a good day. The various "drills" that are executed on a regular basis bring out a mix of circus-like clownship with desperate gasps for survival, in a way that makes you want to laugh but also leaves you feeling dirty for being a part of it. In reality, not everybody there is necessarily stupid in the pure sense of the word. It's just that the company has no substance, and every drill has the goal of painting a fake image that has absolutely nothing to do with the simpleton nature of this entire organization. Consequently, even relatively capable people become clowns in failing circus. This brings me to the second point, which in a way adds comedy to this disaster: they talk about themselves as "97th percentile" performers, elite forces, and "twice faster than the herd." In fact, you will see all of these cliche sentences actually painted on the walls of the various offices. This delusional behavior starts with the CEO, who repeatedly compares himself to the likes of Jeff Bezos and Steve Jobs (#LOL) and talks about the company as somehow in the same league as the Amazons, Apples and Facebooks of the world. In fact, the company has recently gone private because, according to the CEO, the market doesn't understand the true value of the company, which should be in line with companies like Google, Tesla and of, course, Amazon and Facebook. Again, inebriated with its own trademark arrogance, the company thought that it would be able to con the market into believing that it was in the same league as these technology leaders... Well, it failed to fool the street and the analysts - so it had to find an alternative way to con investors. In 90/10 fashion, here's the 80/20 reality check for the company (don't even try to understand these expressions; they are part of the dog-and-pony-show lexicon that this company uses): Amazon, Tesla, Apple and other leaders have one thing in common: they invest heavily in R&D and product development, with focus on solving problems or delivering what hadn't previously been thought possible. The little (very little) that this company invests is on pet projects from the CEO that are basically worn out obvious ideas that he fantasizes as strokes of genius from his gifted mind. Then there's bonus and compensation. After 7 years with ZERO raise (not even for cost of living adjustments), the employees eligible for variable compensation were presented with a surprise cut of half of their bonus. A simple change or rule at the bottom of the ninth inning, followed by a bonus payout in the tens of millions by the CEO to HIMSELF. But this wasn't enough. Later on, a new health insurance plan was announced that was, by far, the worst I've ever seen in any company. Huge deductibles, large paycheck deductions, the works. There's so much more to talk about... the pointless acquisitions that resulted in no organic growth, the clients that explicitly ask account managers not to bring the CEO to meetings, the constant verbal abuse and plain lack of class... but there's one more thing that must be registered and serve as a warning to people who potentially would like to work for this company: there is absolutely ZERO respect for your personal life. Everything is urgent, and you will always be working on pointless drills over nights, weekends and holidays for absolutely no significant output.

Pros

My time here was short, so I wasted no time at a company that uses spyware to invoke fear of being fired into their employees.

Cons

I worked at the company purchased by Solera for half a decade. Solera bought us about a month ago. In my short time being employed by Solera, I experienced the following. The first thing they did after buying our company was announce they were putting spyware on our machines. Any company that uses spyware as an excuse to let you work from home is not a company worth working for. We deal with sensitive customer information, including credit card numbers and SSNs. The spyware allows them to take a screenshot of your desktop at any time, but they "totally promise not to use that feature." If it's a feature of the program, it's going to be used. No one trusts your hollow promises. They reduced our workforce by half and dumped the extra work on the team members left behind without any increase in pay and no plans to hire anymore people. If your company is bought by Solera, start looking for a new job right away. They are a nightmare corporation that should be avoided at all costs.

Pros

Rank and file folks are talented and outside of work are great. I worked with many talented people that dedicated themselves blindly to this organization.

Cons

I read the reviews and can't believe the cool aid still has taste. I found the environment to be fear based with only a small "core" that gets the big piece of cake. Ask any "loyal" and high performing member from San Ramon or San Diego how this company packs its bags and leaves the many that follow the "80/20" garbage in the dust.....collateral damage?
