Pros

Pretty office, some of the employees were truly amazing people.

Cons

The work-life balance is terrible, HR is insanely incompetent and cold, no raises but you can be sure upper Management will show all of their luxury swag off. Almost every company-wide weekly meeting was upper management pointing the finger and generally shaming employees for McGee’s poor sales. You can go above and beyond working your tail off only to be rewarded with more work and told it’s still not enough. It’s hard to get a raise or Christmas bonus. Favoritism is huge here unfortunately. So many members of upper management are there because of who they know, not because of their training or expertise! Another review talking about all the layoffs -including multiple pregnant women- from the last year was true! So many people were suddenly laid off and cheated out of maternity leave or their other benefits they so desperately needed and deserved after working for the company for years. Really sad for a “female-founded” company. If you’re thinking about working here, I would seriously reconsider.

Pros

Beautiful Brand, Some Great People

Cons

Leadership is SO out of touch, unorganized, and manipulative, underpays employees, purposefully gate keeps bonuses, Micromanaging, Can't stick to one strategy, favoritism, and constant Blame Game falling on to Junior employees.

Pros

The people are truly what made this place special. You’ll find some of the most talented, creative, and dedicated individuals who genuinely care about what they do. Just have to sift through the toxic ones.

Cons

The company has lost touch with its values and its people. Leadership has become disconnected and dismissive, with the McGee’s often unaware of what most teams actually do or how much effort goes into making their vision a reality. Over time, layoffs and turnover have left teams stretched thin, yet the expectations only continue to grow. It’s disheartening to watch incredibly capable people take on double or triple the workload without acknowledgment or fair compensation. Even more upsetting was seeing multiple pregnant employees laid off—a reflection of how little the company supports women and families, despite being female-founded. There’s little to no flexibility for those trying to balance work and family life, and the culture has shifted from creative collaboration to fear and burnout. Budgets are tight, raises are rare, and even when you exceed goals, it never feels like enough. The company rewards those who play politics or flatter leadership, not those who perform or innovate. The “Kind Hearts” value they promote publicly is sadly just words; kindness is not something that’s modeled from the top down. It’s hard to watch leadership flaunt luxury purchases while employees struggle to advocate for small raises or the resources needed to do their jobs well. The overall environment has become toxic, and the once-inspiring culture has been replaced by ego and exhaustion.
