Pros

Pay was decent, transparency was decent and WFH

Cons

The project I was assigned to was going good until I had a conversation with upper tier management, (It seems like lower management was offended then retaliation was taken out on me ) then suddenly with out warning I was removed from the team roster, then suddenly removed from the project with out explanation from upper management after numerous contact attempts. Their internal system Ultimatix makes it really hard for one to apply for jobs as its blocks you saying you don't have the competencies for the role which I do or the site is always down. The RMG team is a joke they don't want to work or place you in a role specific to your geographic location. I qualified for other IT roles at TCS but RMG did not assign me to other projects.

Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

I worked at TCS for 2 years, and I can confidently say it was the worst professional experience I’ve had in the tech industry. Despite promises during onboarding that TCS does not fire employees due to being on the bench, I was let go exactly for that reason. After giving my full dedication to a project with PwC (TCS’s client), I was released once the project ended and treated as disposable—left on the bench for two months before being terminated due to RMG's inability to find a new project. Management, overwhelmingly composed of Indian nationals, often displayed unprofessional and dismissive behavior. Communication was poor, transparency was lacking, and employees were treated more like replaceable parts than human beings. My 8+ years of experience and strong track record meant nothing to them. Shortly after leaving, I was hired by an American company where my skills were immediately recognized, and I was treated with the respect every professional deserves. TCS was a complete waste of time in my career. I would not recommend this company to anyone who values professional growth, fair treatment, and a healthy work environment.

Pros

I was paid on time.

Cons

Working at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was the worst experience of my professional life. Leadership is shockingly toxic and even bigoted—astonishingly, I witnessed leaders make derogatory remarks about Indians, and they themselves were Indian. As a woman, I was treated like I was worthless. Their work culture, which is heavily influenced by their Indian roots, does not align with American values of respect, inclusion, and transparency. Leadership lies both to employees and to clients. They will say anything to win business, regardless of their ability to deliver on promises. Once they win a client, they often fail to meet expectations, leaving employees to deal with the fallout. If you value professionalism, ethical behavior, and respect, avoid this company. Their inability to adapt culturally and operationally to American standards makes them a nightmare to work for.
