Low salaries

Pros

Fast growing company, leadership cares about employee development

Cons

For a company that claims to care about their employees, the salaries are very low and the benefits are expensive and don’t offer much coverage. BRP has done nothing to aid employees with the rising inflation. We are constantly hearing about company growth and our overall revenue increasing, but employees are seeing none of this gain.

Pros

Hybrid Remote schedule, Unlimited PTO. Decent medical benefits, and some nice colleagues. HR is good

Cons

The morale in the personal lines department is at an all time low. Most of them team only comes in once a week and half of them make excuses not to come in to avoid dealing with the toxic environment. Too many people in leadership roles gossip about the colleagues under them in the team meetings and before you know it the entire department knows about it. A particular team leader lacks self awareness and is completely oblivious to how she treats and talks to people. Her whole team is unhappy and she fails to see that. Management doesn’t care because the job is getting done but what is worth if colleagues aren’t happy? A lot of people are in leadership positions because of their relationships with management or because they’ve been there for a while but they truly aren’t fit to lead. There has been so many people to leave this department in the last year and it’s going to continue to be that way if they don’t start listening. Micromanagement is the quickest way to lose good people. When they do lose people they act so bitter and cold towards them. It’s quite unfortunate.

Growing Fast - too Fast

Pros

Benefits are pretty good and reasonably priced. Chaotic management means not too much oversight.

Cons

"Building the plane in the air" This company has grown too fast and does not have the organizational infrastructure to support the acquisitions. Diversity is not demonstrated at senior leadership level and is not a concern, based on public comment made by CEO in a town hall meeting. The culture sounds good on paper but doesn't exist in reality. The potential is there for a good place to work, but the current leadership is totally unprepared and clueless about what to do.
