A fundamentally flawed company

Pros

Interesting product with both personal and business application. Smart individuals to work with.

Cons

Since I’ve worked at LTV, I’ve seen multiple individuals fired with no indications that something was wrong prior to their termination. An individual receives a calendar invite with no details from the people team (usually the CPO), and learns of their termination during that call. The company requires no paper trail for infractions to build a case against individuals before letting them go; it just simply happens seemingly at random. It’s happened several times just in the past month and makes me personally concerned about my role at the company. I’ve never worked at another company that would just pull the rug out from someone who’s worked hard for the company and dedicated their time to see it and their projects grow. LTV is not somewhere you’d want to work if you want stability in your role. I would recommend steering very clear of this company.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review. The termination of any of our team members is an emotional and difficult thing for all involved, so it is common to have strong feelings about these situations, as it seems you are trying to express in your review. To protect the privacy of all individuals at LTV, we can never disclose any details related to terminations. As a result, if a termination happens, it’s inevitable that those who didn’t work closely with that team member may be surprised. We are not permitted to explain the details underlying the termination, which we realize can raise questions for some as to how and why it occurred. We never make these decisions lightly nor are they a regular occurrence, as is illustrated by our consistent retention rate above 90%. We are dedicated to working with the rare employee who is having performance issues, whether that support is via Performance Improvement Plans or other methods, such as finding an alternate position for the team member within our company, as you suggest. Unfortunately, sometimes it just doesn’t work out and we must ultimately make decisions for the betterment of our fellow team members and the organization as a whole. We value and respect the honest, and sometimes, sensitive feedback provided by every member of our team, and accordingly invite all employees to share any and all concerns. So, please do not hesitate to utilize the many avenues of support built into LTV’s culture, such as our Professional Development Office Hours, our Employee Assistance Program, and, of course, our open-door policy with any representative of the HR or Executive Team.

Pros

-Remote first: LTV has a great remote culture where employees can work from where they are at. We are also given a home office benefit to furnish our home office! -High-caliber people: Everyone here is incredibly helpful and is willing to teach different aspects about the work we do. People are incredibly understanding of the dynamic of WFH and are flexible if your kid is sick or the dog is barking in the background of a meeting. Executives are super nice and regularly hold town hall meetings -Great benefits: 401k match, free doordash twice a week, great health insurance, etc.

Cons

- (Not necessarily a con but something that could be improved) LTV has a very thorough onboarding which is great for exposure and learning but can feel a bit like drinking from a fire hose. Honestly, it wasn't bad just alot of information at once -normal growing pains of a business: With multiple brands all working hard to grow and optimize, there can be a bit of a resource scarcity with shared resources (legal, email, data preparation, etc.) LTV is very conscious of this and is working to continue to scale its resources. Not something to be concerned about, really it just means you might have to "wait in line" for somethings to get done sometimes.
