Pros

I’ve been with MIL for 4 years now, and it’s been such a rewarding journey so far. Funny enough, I originally found the company through Glassdoor, so writing this review feels very full circle. What started as a very specific corporate role has evolved into much more project-based work than I ever expected to be doing here. One of the things I appreciate most is being able to openly share ideas without fear of judgment. My supervisor has been incredibly supportive, and having leadership that genuinely listens has made a huge difference in both my growth and confidence. The flexibility of remote work, the trust I’m given, and the supportive environment are some of the biggest positives for me. The work-life balance has also been excellent, which has made it possible to continue growing professionally while still prioritizing my family and personal life.

Cons

Some benefits could definitely be more competitive

Pros

The local company and the people you work with seem to really care about attracting talent and retaining it. They do a lot to keep people here and make them happy. They hire a very diverse cast of characters, in terms of ethnicity, background, gender, and skill. MIL offers some interesting benefits and typically a laid back environment. Management encourages a wide variety of skill growth.

Cons

Sometimes, it feels like the folks at the executive level (above local VPs) care more about the dollar than the guys earning them that dollar. Because they are such a small company (by comparison to others), MIL Corporation easily sways to the whims of the government customer. Whatever the government guys say, goes. Further, your knowledge enhancement has to be on your time. MIL Corp is very strict about making sure you charge time precisely and spend that time fully engaged with your product.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for being part of the MIL team. It’s great to hear that the people, culture, and opportunities for growth have stood out to you. We put a lot of focus on creating an environment where employees feel supported, valued, and able to build their skills, so it means a lot to see that reflected in your feedback. We also appreciate your honesty around the challenges you’ve experienced. Input like this is important and helps us continue to improve. We are always working to strengthen communication across all levels of the organization and to ensure our decisions reflect both our business needs and our people. As a government contractor, supporting our customers is a core part of what we do, but we recognize the importance of maintaining a strong employee experience alongside that. Thanks again for your feedback. – The MIL Corporation

Pros

Can't think of one good thing about a company that reneges on comp time AFTER THE FACT

Cons

Gov't employees were given off Christmas Eve and the day after. The day before Christmas Eve, an email came out saying MIL was authorizing the same comp time for those 2 days. On Dec 30th, they reneged and said everyone has to take those as vacation days!!! A GOOD company would have gotten this authorized ahead of time. A GOOD company would apply G&A to these days rather than telling employees to take vacation days they had not planned on taking. Absolutely ridiculous. Stay as far away from this place as you can.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your frustration regarding the recent holiday leave communication. We understand how important clear and timely guidance is, especially when it affects personal plans and earned time off. We strive to communicate policies accurately and as early as possible, and we recognize that in this instance the experience did not meet that expectation. We are actively reviewing our internal processes to ensure greater clarity, consistency, and advance coordination moving forward. We genuinely value our employees and the work they do in support of our customers and each other. Feedback like yours helps us identify opportunities to improve, and we encourage employees to raise concerns directly with leadership or HR so we can address them quickly and constructively. Thank you again for taking the time to share your perspective. – The MIL Corporation
