Pros

Discount, office in good location.

Cons

This brand isn't what it was when I joined. Laid off too many employees today without any advance notice. Everyone is depressed.

Pros

1) Truly, undeniably successful company - no one talks about it but from nothing to this global enterprise is unreal especially in non-tech / consumer 2) Hierarchy is not directly in your face; it’s not totally “flat” per se but just flat below a certain level so you don’t feel like a cog in a wheel 3) Young - a lot more young people working here than I expected and it’s good to see them getting opportunities to shine 4) employee discount

Cons

1) A quiet utter chaos - no one’s yelling or running around with their head cut off openly or panicking and yet to work here feels like chaos, like no glue, nothing sticks, things change information is in silos; there’s no processes and there’s a quiet disdain for them; it’s not as if they crave process but don’t know how, it’s more of a “poo-poo”ing of it 2) Snarky bunch of people / hard to build relationships - could be a couple things - lot of Ralph Lauren alums, fashion in general, NYC - who knows but man you remember that sweet interaction you had couple weeks back - well so and so doesn’t appear to, so move on. 3) Osmosis culture - “oh yeah there’s XYZ due tomorrow you didn’t know???” - a generally held belief that information magically passes through the air; that some force allows it to do so such that no structure at all is needed; very poorly functioning rumor mill as well - hard to get information but no thriving “market” for it either 4) Monarchical - this feeling that we are all just running around trying to get a sense of what the monarch and her top ministers want or are planning; they may or may not consult people “below” for decision making - directives come down very fast from above “like Whoa.” People there one day, gone the next; The Crown
