Pros

-Truly family-like culture where employees feel valued and supported -Strong focus on promoting from within and growing their people -Leadership that is approachable and relatable (the Founder/Previous CEO even shared how he started washing dishes, inspiring employees to never give up on their dreams) -Generous support beyond the workplace, they even helped me pay for college, covered an unexpected bill when I was a single mother, and funded multiple certifications for career growth -Leadership teams (executive directors and others) consistently listen and make employees feel heard

Cons

-Like many healthcare organizations, the work can be demanding at times but the supportive culture makes it worthwhile

Pros

I loved my work, and the residents. Benefits are good such as raise every few months and purchasing power. Getting paid weekly is great.

Cons

They start people off at a ridiculous wage, the ED where I came from played favorites and was very in to retaliation and was very sneaky about how to fire people, and when. The director in the AL was even worse, constantly starting drama with her employees, stirring things up and talking about the employees and residents as if she was above them. She was always talking about employees with employees, there was never a moment of peace. She relied on me to do most of her job for her and then when she looked bad to the ED who wasn’t a fan of mine she would wrote me up for frivolous things. I was terminated with no reason because I asked a girl who had recently started to make sure people were fed because two residents had told me they were not offered dinner the night before. The girls mother was a member of management and her boyfriends mother was a member of management, they had her quit so it wouldn’t be a conflict of interest and then told me I was suspended pending an investigation by management and then two hours later told me I was terminated with no reason. Staffing is a nightmare, they work people until they are in such a bad mood and then turn around and write them up when they miss something. All shifts do not do the same amount of work. They only really worry about following guidelines when families get so tired of things not going right that they call state. AL accepts anyone who has the money instead of realizing the staff is not certified and doesn’t work in skilled nursing. AL would have to go without cook, housekeeping and activities associate if there was a call in or someone had a day off instead of staffing accordingly. If the ED doesn’t like you your not moving up in the company no matter how hard you try or how much the residents love you.
