Twistle is going through HUGE growing pains!

Pros

During the COVID-19 pandemic, they supported local businesses by reimbursing lunches at local businesses.

Cons

Twistle has a revolving door! I've seen at least 1/4th of the company fired since January. They are a small company with big aspirations but haven't figured out how to grow properly. Management is fickle and unsupportive unless you are in a C-Suite position. Working here is like being in a dysfunctional family. They boast "unlimited vacation time", which is a true fantasy. Senior management makes unrealistic promises to prospective clients, throwing the company into turmoil while they try to deliver.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate and value your input as an employee. One of our core values is “Be Transparent” and I will do my best to respond to your concerns transparently. I agree that we are going through growing pains and it can be hard. We doubled in size last year and certainly made mistakes along the way. While we have not fired nearly ¼ of the company, we have had to make the difficult decision to part ways with some team members. Hiring is not a perfect science and we’re trying to improve every day. This year certainly provided additional challenges in that regard. Figuring out how to grow properly takes trial and error and we regret that we haven’t met your expectations. To help mitigate mistakes going forward, we recently rolled out a performance management program to help address employee development as well as an educational assistance program and an employee wellness program. Striving to be better is one of our values and our intention is to help all of our team members grow and be challenged. I’m truly unaware of any personality clashes you reference as happening in 2020, however since you are a current team member, I encourage you to follow up with any member of the management team to discuss in more detail. We can always improve, and the feedback helps us to do so.

Pros

Work from home stipend. Fun Swag, "Unlimited Vacation time"

Cons

Job stability is a huge problem at Twistle. I can't count how many people were discharged during my time there. The remaining employees are rightfully worried about job safety. There are SO many meetings!! The meetings drastically cut into your productivity time. Changes to the service are put in play before notifying customers, which least to a LOT to "eating crow" when dealing with clients. Even though the changes fix bugs and security issues, the communication to clients is extremely poor. They make you use your own mobile phone to conduct company business. Management has poor management skills! Management needs to lead by example and create a positive working environment for employees to perform at their best capacity.

We're sorry that you didn't enjoy your experience at Twistle but appreciate your feedback and take it seriously. While it is always hard to see teammates leave, we believe it is most important to be fair to everyone - fair to a teammate that may not be a good fit by giving them clear feedback and a path to improve, and also fair to the rest of the team. When it's clear that corrective actions won't drive the needed change we don't want to prolonging a situation that can hurt morale. And while we've focused on improving our interviewing process to reduce the number of people that leave Twistle, our attrition rate is in line with similar companies at our stage and size. When someone does leave, we assure the rest of the team that this person was treated fairly and given coaching on opportunities to improve performance, while also respecting privacy. Twistle is growing quickly, and that means communication does become harder than when we were just 20 employees. We are aware of those challenges, and are working hard to be more efficient in how we communicate, using all available tools and developing guidelines for when and how to conduct meetings. We are being careful, as we also don't want to create the opposite problem of people not being aware enough of important company information, so this work is ongoing but we are making progress. With respect to customer notifications, during the fourth quarter of 2020, we implemented a customer communications system that now alerts customers ahead of time of all platform changes, along with release notes, and we've also added substantially to our delivery and success teams to ensure all of our customers are getting the attention they need throughout their entire Twistle journey.

Pros

- Fast paced, challenging, innovative work - Tuition Reimbursement opportunities - Leadership is transparent and open to feedback and collaboration - The company culture is centered on helping patients and growing employees - Management regularly reminds and assists employees in maintaining a healthy Work/Life balance - Competitive-to-market compensation

Cons

Because Twistle's demand has increased rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic, smaller teams have had to take on large tasks; and some clients' timelines can result in long work hours as a result.
