Pros

Interesting projects, good way to learn and gain experience. Taking home a vehicle for field work is a nice plus and the immediate people you work with are usually pretty decent.

Cons

UES is a very quickly growing company that is buying out smaller firms across the country. They bring the cons of corporate management (more rules, more regulations, less freedom to make practical decisions, etc.) but very few of the pros you'd expect. Pay is typically below industry standard, and for newer staff it can be significantly below. The health insurance offered is expensive with high deductibles. There are no bonuses for low and intermediate level staff. Inflation outpaces the raises. The retirement compensation and PTO are not competitive with similar companies. As other reviews have mentioned, UES calls its employees family but in reality, operates in a way that consistently ignores the needs of its employees.
