Pros

-Some nice people and support staff, the corporate office seems nice. - getting to know all different areas of the city.

Cons

- the training is near nonexistent, the sales managers are snarky and does a very poor job sharing what knowledge they have to prevent issues. -Extremely high turnover combines with bad team leadership means that that sales team has 0 team culture or comradery, makes a isolating job even more so. -Very long hours, days start at 9am and you may be given same day appointments as late as 7pm with only a few hours notice.

Pros

Gas is reimbursed but that is every sales

Cons

During the job description, we were told that we would not have to knock on doors or make phone calls. We were told that we would be given a certain number of appointments each month. Lo and behold, we are now being told to make phone calls EVERY DAY. I did not sign up to cold call people. You hired me because of my sales experience, not because I have a phone with a Verizon Subscription. You have an inside sales team that is already being paid to do that. "A Solar Sales Consultant is *not a lead generation role where you will be asked to knock on doors or cold call*. We are seeking experienced sales representatives that are closers with a track record of success in sales and are looking for the right environment to be successful." So this is just a complete lie The training is absolutely abysmal. We had a couple of days in the office and then we're just tossed out on the road. I had to ask coworkers for help, and they taught me more than management ever did. Venture Solar uses something called “closers,” who are supposed to help you close a deal. So far, 50% of the time, I’ve been told at the last minute that they were busy and that I have to run the appointment all by myself. Now here I am, without adequate training, completely on my own, and expected to close sales by myself under high expectations. I have been in jobs where buying leads cost alot of money. Unfortunately, Venture Solar seems to be doing so well that they don't care. Maybe instead of spending so much money on all these leads, you can invest more time into training and paying adequately. We've been told that Solar has a high turnover rate. I think that might just be the case with Venture Solar.
