Pros

* Highest salary I've made so far * Easy to get an interview and offer due to incompetent people within the organization * If you're a career employee and made it past probation, you got it made with job security

Cons

* Doing the work of four-five people, so salary really isn't competitive * Trifling, arrogant, and jealous boss who earns too much (there's a lot of them) * No job protection for MSS employees * Trifling employees who have permanent jobs and aren't fired because it takes too much work to do so * Talk a good game but it's a sham * Most inefficient organization I've worked for in my almost 30 years of experience. Fast food chains are better managed. * So technologically backwards, it would make the Flintstones seem like Apple

Pros

Pay is very good upon initial blush. Expectations are great yet are overlooked in the name of hiring people that are not effective in knowing what efficient Gov't is really about.

Cons

Layer upon layer of incompetent ill suited personnel. One huge Job Program that has not worked in decades, if ever at all. From the very top to the very bottom, cronyism to the greatest extent. Would have to ask for all PINK slips and start over. Lucky to retain 20% that are skilled enough to run the corrupt $13B grafted budget.

Pros

If you know the right people you can make a lot of money doing nothing. Sometimes you actually get to help people.

Cons

Every stereotype people have about lazy, overpaid government workers doesn't even begin to describe the corruption, dysfunction, and unprofessional nature at DC Government.
