Pros

Credit unions are awesome in general!

Cons

Hard to advance and not many professional development opportunities. They seem to favor those south of the river or those with "connections".

Pros

Fantastic benefits with lots of pto and a high 401k match.

Cons

Constantly short staffed, since most of the branches nearby don't have teller lines, members come from all over to this branch. It is overcrowded with members all the time and there are never enough employees on staff. Managers here are in charge of taking mortgage applications even though they have actual mortgage officers on staff. Because of this, there is almost never any leadership that you can go to for assistance, and you tend to be directionless for a great majority of the time. The goals, specifically for a teller, are completely unreasonable. Any referrals made to a financial advisor do not do anything for you at all, unless the member actually ends up getting a product with them. Any referrals made at all do not count unless they end up receiving the product that was referred. If you do not reach your referral goals, not a chance will you be considered for a different position with Wings. As a teller supervisor, you are the only one in the branch without training on loans, cds and so many other things, so for me it became a daily event where someone would get angry with me anytime I checked them in for member service. This didn't used to be an issue when they had part timers and receptionists, but now the teller line works as receptionists as well. I was so burnt out from this job that I had to leave the position before I could start looking for new jobs.
