Business Outlook

Pros

Opportunities to develop skills across multiple areas of the business. Colleagues are generally hardworking, dedicated, and committed to delivering good outcomes for customers. The company has historically fostered a positive and people-focused working environment.

Cons

Workload expectations and performance targets can feel challenging to balance, particularly during periods of high demand. Some employees may feel there is limited flexibility in how work is managed, with a strong focus on performance metrics and adherence to processes. Increased oversight of schedules, breaks, and office attendance requirements has led some employees to feel less autonomous in their roles. Cross-training and additional responsibilities provide valuable experience, but some employees would welcome greater recognition or reward for acquiring and applying additional skills. Hybrid working arrangements can feel inconsistent across different roles and departments, leading to perceptions of unequal flexibility. Office attendance requirements may not always reflect individual circumstances or contributions made outside of standard working patterns. Communication around culture and employee engagement does not always align with the day-to-day experience of all teams. Employee feedback regarding workload, performance measures, and operational processes is not always perceived to result in meaningful change. Recognition initiatives are appreciated, but some employees would prefer greater focus on longer-term career development, compensation, and wellbeing support. Annual leave availability can be difficult to secure during popular periods due to operational requirements. Staff turnover appears to have increased compared with previous years, resulting in the loss of experienced employees and impacting team morale. Facilities and workplace resources have occasionally presented challenges, affecting the overall office experience.
