Pros

The benefits are good (contributes to 401k, transit reimbursement, training/education budget).

Cons

In spite of being a salaried employee we have a timesheet like an hourly employee. Although we are working on a firm-fixed price contract where the company is paid if the building is closed, the employees are not. We are told to take personal time off or make up the hours. Does not seem right.

Worst Company Ever Encountered

Pros

Any pro’s I was told about when hired were proven to be false.

Cons

-Senior leadership on project anger issues and yelling -Senior leadership on project speaking to all staff they did not like in a condescending, less than manner -Senior leadership that did not participate in the yelling and other antics, stood by and did not support staff as other senior leadership fired minority employees without warning and continuously tried to railroad employees. Meanwhile, white male employees were treated with child gloves. -EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL HUMAN RESOURCES, ignored issues, and made excuses for senior leadership treating all staff they didn’t like very poorly. This is also the worst Human Resources I have ever encountered. Fired 3 minorities in the span of a few weeks without cause and with lack of any support from HR.

Pros

Medical insurance is good though.

Cons

Greedy company as they call you "salaried" but if the government shuts down because of snow, Zantech docks your pay. However as a contractor under a fixed fee contract, Zantech gets paid regardless, so they just pocket the difference as more profit. This can seriously affect people who rely on their paychecks or those who can't make up hours because of children or other commitments. If you don't need their medical or 401(k) benefits (and most veterans or spouses don't), you aren't given a differential as many government contract companies do. But worst of all is although you qualify for participating in 401(k) after 3 months, they wait to send you the sign-up paperwork so its assured that you will miss 1 to 2 months of this benefit. If they are doing this to all employees, you can see how this would add up to big $ to them. If it's not intentional, then HR is incompetent; but it's one or the other. They also pay very low, and also unfairly for the someone with the same qualifications to perform the same job. Look elsewhere unless any of this appeals to you.
