We all have to decide when enough is enough

Pros

Start-up culture has so much good - the pace, the promise, and so many of the people, but, start-ups cannot operate in a world where the C-Suite create their own moral compass. The C-Suite at App Annie sadly lives in a 'pre-Susan Fowler' world where they behave however they want, and it's HR's job to make sure everyone falls in-line.

Cons

During my tenure this C-Suite settled so many issues involving sexual harassment, hostile work environment, and ‘performance-based’ dismissals - always with non-disparagement and confidentiality agreements, preventing each person from speaking out, and a cash-offer it’s hard to turn down when you’re early in your career and living in an expensive city. And this pattern, unfortunately, continues to repeat. While I no longer work there, I feel like we all have to decide when enough is enough. I’ve now seen, heard and experienced enough. I'd recommend you consider alternatives before taking an offer here.

Pros

Good reputation. Good benefits for the size of the company. Work remote.

Cons

Where to start? Just read the review responses from our CPO or Chief of Staff. We’re trying to communicate our issues with you, this is the only way we feel safe and in response you tell us to come to you and you’ll help us leave the company?! The reason these posts are personal is because many of us have poured years of our lives into this company only to see things progressively getting worse. The reason why this seems “coordinated” to management is because a lot of us are sick of the same old responses and things getting worse. Just look at the talent that’s left data.ai. These people weren’t let go, they left. Also, this negative feedback isn’t just limited to us as employees, look at “Interview Experience”. We show 42% negative and a 41% positive rating. We’re supposed to be the industry leader. Our next closest competitor has a Negative 28% and a Positive 47%. Perhaps management should look inward instead of copy and pasting the same response over and over again.

Pros

- Good base salary - Opportunity to sell into big names in the mobile industry - Coworkers are genuinely good people

Cons

My time at Data.ai reminds me of the story of the scorpion riding the frog's back across the river. The scorpion promises not to sting the frog, but halfway across the river, he stings the frog anyway. When the frog asks why, the scorpion simply replies, "I couldn't help it. It's in my nature." Welcome to Data.ai. The company enjoyed being the industry leader for years but that time is long gone. The CEO insists on releasing flashy new vapor-wear to upsell while completely neglecting the core platform. Customers see right through it and combine that with the competition catching up, the party is over. A quick look at LinkedIn shows the CRO, SVP of Sales and VP of Sales all left within a 4 month period after being at Data.ai for 7+ years. The culture is toxic. It's pretty obvious which reviews are from HR or coerced employees. It's an open secret that the internal AMP surveys can't be trusted and you just keep your mouth shut. Management can claim this isn't the case but it's not rocket science. In short, this company is a complete disaster. Management is incompetent, the CEO is delusional, the new CRO is a narcissist, and the CPO replying to reviews is having a public meltdown. If you're looking for a job, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
