Pros

work from home I can't thin k of any other

Cons

horrible training wastes your time demanding old picky ladies who want to absorb you at the cost of free unpaid training be careful, training has a test, if you fail, you won't be able to start working you need to get 100% in the test, they never tell you about this. Training is just too much to be for free your salary depends on bookings, super annoying supervisors (Freelance should not have any supervisors)

Pros

You are guaranteed back to back lessons if that`s what you want. In addition to 30 hours of guaranteed lessons per week.

Cons

You can be the best teacher in the world and they will always look down on you by telling you what you do wrong all the time. It`s a place that brings your slef esteem rock bottom. There is no sense of team work and they prevent trainers from interacting with each other for a mysterious reasons. Even if you work for 15 years you won`t get a raise. They take advantage of the current economic crises and the fact that many of the teachers are desperate for the work. They care more about NST rates than the health of the employees. If you work 70 hours a week and don`t make it for 3 of the lessons they will be on your tail. Be ready to feel stressed out and underpaid for the amount of work you do. You need to listen, teach, speak take notes while in your sessions and do extra work preparing reports. They pay different teachers different hourly rates. Horrific.

Pros

positive aspects - amazing flexibility - set your own hours, work from home. Also students are fascinating people from all over the world, some become friends and are such a pleasure to work with. Also, if students cancel less than six hours before a lesson you are paid for the lesson. My particular boss I had was great though I had interactions with other management not nearly as competent.

Cons

negative aspects - pay is quite bad. hourly wage does not even increase with inflation. In two years I (and fellow colleagues) were given a 50 cent raise. Every employee for goFLUENT I talked with was disgruntled about the pay. Job offers no benefits (management always attributes this to being part-time) and doesn't guarantee hours. Students can cancel up to 6 hours before a lesson and the teacher isn't paid. Sometimes, I would wake up and have up to 50% of my lessons cancelled. The company has a bonus system which is a lot of work for very little reward. Employees are reviewed four times each quarter (in live lessons and lesson reports) and each review has multiple 10-20 criteria where employee can be penalized. Employee has to get all reviews perfect to get something like a $50 bonus.
