Pros

Popshelf has great co-workers and a great company culture. They make sure to hire great people, and you will get along with near everyone guaranteed, as well as great systems for encouragement.

Cons

Non-existant benefits, High Stress due to constant moves, never a chance to breathe, Constant understaffing and overworking, Unrealistic Standards for work (Eg. needing to be both at register, and needing at the back at the store for a move and needing to put out a set amount of freight, and recover, and so on so forth, none of which gets done (or one task gets done) due to short staffing and cut hours), High stress on Management, Keyholders, Employees. Expect very high turnover. Due to such low staff, expect high amounts of drama as well, Primarily due to the fact there is always so much to do, and typically only two or three people an entire day available to work,

Pros

Best thing about this place are most of the coworkers. Short amount time we made a work family. It's a very relaxed job easy money. Get to meet all kinds of different people.

Cons

Store manager, hours, work/ life balance is not there for most, unorganized, lack of training, favoritism, get nothing but excuses, lack of communication. It has a possibility of being a great store just opened to soon and is not being ran correctly.

Pros

A handful of my coworkers were wonderful. They do have benefits but they're not the greatest.

Cons

No employee discount Retaliation via cutting hours and hostile workplace and lies One of the sales associates tried to get me fired after I had to write her up (she went to starbucks on the clock for an hour and a half) by calling corporate and pretended to be an upset customer saying I was drunk and drugged out at work, she was dumb enough to use her personal number so when my manager went to call the "customer" for more details it was easy to figure out since that was the number she used for the group chat. When that didnt work they started putting nails in my tires (I dont have solid proof but it happened 6 times, with a total 11 nails through out a 2 month time frame, always only happened driving home after working with said employee and I have not had any flat tires since I quit 4 months ago, so 95% sure it was them) didnt fire her and forced me to work alone with her constantly. They do not take the safety of their employees or customers seriously, the only thing that matters is that the corporate hags get their money. Basically go read the r/ dollargeneralworkers reddit page and that is exactly what working for popshelf is like, the only difference is DG wears black and yellow and popshelf wears purple. Unrealistic labor goals, expecting one to two people doing the work of 4-5 people. A good manager is rare, only one of the 4 managers I worked with was competent and a pleasure to work with.
