Great Place to Build a Career in Product

      Pros

Glassdoor is the best company I've ever worked at. The commitment to work-life balance, the camaraderie, the feeling that your coworkers truly care about you and have your back... these things are truly unmatched. This kind of culture is only possible when the people around you genuinely like their jobs and genuinely like each other. Product in particular is uniquely great at Glassdoor because unlike other tech companies, our PMs have a direct hand in influencing & shaping the overall product strategy.

      Cons

Product & Engineering has SUCH a great workplace culture... which means that no one wants to leave. This can pose some challenges with regards to upwards mobility as our org becomes increasingly top-heavy.

It’s personally rewarding to hear that our commitment to work-life balance, strong team camaraderie, and culture of support resonate so strongly with you. A thriving, collaborative environment is exactly what we strive to create, and it’s great to see that reflected in your experience. I also appreciate your feedback on upward mobility. We’re actively exploring ways to ensure that everyone continues to find meaningful growth opportunities—whether through new initiatives, opportunities to learn, or expanded leadership roles. If you have specific ideas or areas where we can improve, I’d love to hear them. Thanks again for your contributions to our team and for helping make Glassdoor such a special place to build a career in product! - Andy Chen, Chief Product Officer

      Pros

Glassdoor is a company that actually lives by its values. The people are smart, kind, hardworking and collaborative. There's minimal politics. I find that leadership cares about people and make decisions with minimal ego involved. We rate potential candidates on a "good person" scale and it's so evident. I've never worked at a tech company like Glassdoor and I am grateful to be here, everyday.

      Cons

We're always trying to accomplish a lot and we're often understaffed, so it can be easy to feel burned out.

Thank you for taking the time to share this thoughtful review. I’m humbled to hear that you’ve had such a positive experience at Glassdoor. Our commitment to living by our values and hiring great people who are not only talented but also kind and collaborative is something we care deeply about. It’s encouraging to know that this resonates with you and helps create a workplace where you feel valued and inspired. I also appreciate your feedback on our ambition and pace. While we pride ourselves on setting big goals and moving quickly, we know it can sometimes feel like a lot—and burnout is something we take seriously. Your well-being is essential to both your success and ours, so I encourage you to have open conversations with your manager and team about prioritization and support. We’re always looking for ways to better balance our ambitions with sustainable workloads, and input like yours helps us do just that. Thank you for being part of Glassdoor’s mission and for helping us create a culture we can all be proud of. It’s people like you who make this such a special place to work. - Andy Chen, Chief Product Officer
