"The public charter school alumni who proudly shook my hand at commencement last May in front of beaming families and educators made F&M a richer and finer institution, truer to our mission — and they are going to make their mark on the world." We write today outraged – and committed to action. The Administration’s decision to rescind Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in six months will remove protection from more than 800,000 people who came to our country as children and are now studying, working, and contributing to our communities. We have students, alumni, staff members, and neighbors who are directly threatened by this. The time to act is now. The best hope for long-term protection for Dreamers is The DREAM Act of 2017, a bill that provides legal status and a path to citizenship for undocumented young people who entered the U.S. as minors. We support our students, families and communities, and we firmly support this DREAM Act. With this link (http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ04y), you can ask your members of Congress to support this important piece of legislation to help protect young immigrants. We hope you will join us in signing on. #DefendDACA #SupportDreamers
