Allied Solutions’ Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer, Ashima Kapur, has joined the board of directors of the Greater Indianapolis Chapter of the American Red Cross. “We are excited to welcome Ashima to our Indianapolis Board of Directors. She has a passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace and society. These values are at the core of the American Red Cross,” said Terry Stigdon, CEO of the American Red Cross Indiana Region. “Ashima’s leadership and expertise will be invaluable to furthering the Red Cross mission in our region,” added Stigdon. “As a new member of the board of directors, I look forward to leveraging my leadership, skills and network to help the American Red Cross,” mentioned Kapur. “Allied Solutions’ values reflect our commitment to making an impact in our communities, and I’m pleased my position on the board will help deepen our partnership with the American Red Cross.” Kapur earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial psychology and organizational behavior from Delhi University. Kapur has more than 30 years of experience in human resources management, primarily in the insurance, financial services, and tech industries. Kapur joined Allied Solutions in 2013, after previously serving as the assistant vice president at OneAmerica. She joins the board of the Greater Indianapolis Chapter after previously serving on the board of the Indianapolis Urban League.
In September, Allied Solutions hosted its 14th annual United Way campaign. Through employee and corporate pledges, Allied Solutions raised $169,000 that will support 60 United Way chapters across the country. During the United Way campaign, Allied’s commitment to community extended beyond donations. The company hosted volunteer events in every community where Allied has offices. Employees volunteered at United Way partner agencies serving neighbors facing food insecurity, empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to thrive in their community and supporting the mental health and well-being of kids. The campaign theme of Empowering People. Unlocking Change. resulted in employee engagement with the campaign and awareness of the needs in the communities where we live and work. A total of 460 Allied Solutions employees participated in volunteer or campaign activities. “United Way and its partner agencies are vital links within our communities. They empower individuals to unlock change in their lives and their communities,” said Allied Solutions CEO Pete Hilger. “It’s a privilege to make an impact in our communities and support our neighbors through our annual campaign.” During the campaign, Allied Solutions also hosted a golf outing fundraiser to benefit long-time partner, the Emily Thomas Foundation. The event raised more than $180,000 that will help children reach their full potential through programs supporting educational and social development.
From May to August, 21 interns have been able to #MakeAnImpact at Allied Solution’s Carmel and St. Paul offices. Our interns got real world experience and dived into projects and events and collaborated with teams. Emily Britton, corporate marketing intern, shared “I don’t feel like I’m just an intern. [My supervisor and mentor] care about my opinion which has in turn given me more confidence in sharing my input.” Throughout the summer, interns participated in many professional development opportunities such as: • Attending a panel featuring employees who recently transitioned into the workforce. • Learning at two business etiquette luncheons. • Volunteering at Helping Veterans and Families (HVAF). • Participating in a resume building and interviewing workshop. • Hosting an open house for their final projects. • Job shadowing • And more! Each year, college students nationwide coordinate and participate in Dance Marathon fundraising events, hosted by more than 400 schools. Since 1991, Dance Marathon programs have raised $350 million for Children’s Miracle Network’s 170 children’s hospitals. The annual Dance Marathon Leadership Conference trains and prepares student leaders to host successful Dance Marathon events, while also gaining valuable leadership, communication and project management skills. Allied Solutions has been a long-time donor to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and member hospital Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. This partnership amplifies the company’s commitment to children’s health initiatives. The talent acquisition (TA) team received an HR Impact Award from the Indianapolis Business Journal. The award recognizes the innovative strategies employed by the TA team, supported by the corporate communications and community engagement team, to reach both internal and external candidates through social networking platforms. Hunger-relief organizations in the U.S. are experiencing soaring demands due to the COVID-19 crisis. To help alleviate these strains in local communities, Allied Solutions is doing their part to help support Second Helpings in Indiana, Grace Bridge Food Bank in Texas and the Food Bank of Siouxland in Iowa.
