“What tipped me was Audible’s distinctive culture, that I would be working ‘shoulder to shoulder’ with other missionaries who are expected to passionately debate what is best for customers, but do so with kindness and compassion.” Chief Technology Officer Tim Martin came to Audible not just for the work itself, but for how the work gets done. Our culture and our mission as a company are just as important to us as our product.

For our Founder and Executive Chairman, Don Katz, Audible wasn’t a single “aha!” moment. He was an author and journalist jogging along the New York City waterfront when he had the idea to build the first digital audio player. Twenty-seven years later, we’re collaborating with creators around the world, continuing to bring a spectrum of stories to our listeners. More of his story (and ours) in Investor's Business Daily.
Jiun Kim leads our data science team in optimizing content discoverability, connecting our listeners with the entertainment and information they’re looking for. Our relationship with Amazon allows Jiun and her team to harness market-leading tools and data sets to develop more creative solutions than they might otherwise.
The Newark Artist Collaboration installations are rolling out across our Newark neighborhood, and we're excited that local artist Yasmin De Jesus recently completed a large-scale mural in our newly renovated headquarters lobby as part of the initiative. In this mural, the figures listen, through headphones, to Newark voices and the words they hear surround them, encouraging those viewing the mural to connect with others through storytelling.
