To honor Hispanic Heritage Month, Axon's Hispanic Origin and Latin Americans employee resource group (HOLA), hosted a fireside chat with Chief Ramon Batista of the Santa Monica Police Department. Chief Batista is the first Hispanic Police Chief in the history of Santa Monica PD.
In support of Axon’s goal to increase ethics and equity competency across the organization, the Global Strategic Community Impact team (GSCI) recently kicked off the first pair of virtual ‘Ethical Tech’ training sessions in September. Both sessions, led by Dr. Desmond Patton of the U.S. Ethics & Equity Advisory Council (EEAC) and SAFELab at Penn State, focused on helping over 350 employees learn how to identify potential biases in the product design cycle by reflecting on how one’s identity, background, and past experiences can impact technology development.
