Team Spotlight: Talent Acquisition Recruiters had the honor of supporting our teams during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the last several months multiple recruiters within Talent Acquisition have helped to staff hundreds of individuals for our COVID-19 testing and vaccine sites. Roles include Receptionists, Customer Experience Reps, Medical Assistants, and Nursing Assistants. This has not been an easy task but extremely rewarding to all who supported this project. Knowing that our team has directly impacted not only Banner employees but also our communities during these trying times is a gratifying and humbling experience. Team Member Spotlight - Aimee Ferraro, RN, BSN, Associate Director of Nursing, MOSU/Adult Acute Care and CCO at Banner Ocotillo Chandler, AZ Aimee started her Banner journey 13 years ago, as a New Graduate Nurse in the Neuro/Trauma PCU unit at Banner UMC. Later she transitioned to the PCU at Banner Gateway and promoted to Clinical Manager, House Supervisor, and then Senior Manager of the MOSU, and PCU units. In 2020, she became Associate Director of Nursing for the MOSU/Adult Acute Care and CCO departments for the new Banner Ocotillo facility in Chandler. She shared, “I love that Banner has given me wonderful opportunities to grow as a nurse and leader within the organization.”

Team Member Spotlight: Hannah Gonsalves, BSN, RN, Outpatient Observation Unit, at Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ Hannah’s Banner journey began in 2019 in the New Nurse Experience (NNE) program. She shared, “In a few short months, I was able to transition from a student nurse to a medical professional. I attribute a lot of my success to my nurse preceptor, who took the time to teach me the ropes. She inspired me to better myself as a nurse and teach others to do the same.”

Cristina started her Banner journey in 2005 at Banner Estrella, as part of the team that opened the facility. She soon moved into leadership, first for MRI, and later for CT. Over the years she has also been involved in many imaging committees as well as, hospital, and systemwide processes improvement projects. She shared, “I have now been with Banner for 15 years and have shared my knowledge and skills not only as an MRI tech, but as a manager.” In 2017, she graduated with a Bachelors in Diagnostic Imaging and Therapy. That same year she chose to move to Banner Outpatient Imaging to allow for more schedule flexibility, as she is continuing her education with a goal of becoming a provider.
