By high school, students often lose interest in science. Our Biotech in Action: Virtual Summer Lab encourages students to pursue biotech and science through labs, real-life application, conversations with Biogen and Lemelson-MIT Program scientists and more. Read more about this program:
We are honored to be named a 2020 "Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion," receiving a 100% score on Disability:IN's Disability Equality Index (DEI) for the third year in a row. We're committed to employing people with disabilities, with the hope of breaking down barriers and leveraging inclusion to drive positive behavioral and cultural change.
Welcome to the 80 students across Massachusetts and North Carolina who are participating in our five-week Virtual Community Lab with the Lemelson-MIT Program. Designed to foster a passion for science, the program accepts students from lower income households and groups historically underrepresented in science and provides them with the opportunity to virtually meet and interact with Biogen employees and get an inside view of a biotech company.
We’re honored to be recognized among the 100 Best Corporate Citizens of 2020 by 3BL Media and ranked #1 on Climate Change in the Biotech, Pharma & Life Science industry.
Open message to Biogen employees around the world from CEO Michel Vounatsos:
Most of us know someone impacted by Alzheimer’s disease. That’s why, at Biogen, our work is driven by personal passion as we strive to discover treatments for humanity.
From arranging emergency childcare to providing groceries, organizations are working tirelessly to meet the fast-evolving needs of healthcare workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re proud to support these groups, including UNC Health and Cambridge Health Alliance, as they care for those who care for all of us.
Our colleagues were among the first people in Massachusetts to be diagnosed with and recover from COVID-19. We are uniquely positioned to help in the search for potential vaccines and treatments. That’s one of the reasons why we are collaborating with Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and Partners HealthCare to create a COVID-19 biobank.
We’re proud to support organizations like the Greater Boston Food Bank and Community Servings in their efforts to care for our neighbors during this time.
Our purpose is to lead with science for the betterment of humanity. In 2019, we advanced health equity, diversity goals (46% of director-level positions and above are held by women), and improved our environmental performance. Discover more about our unwavering commitment to the communities we serve in our 2019 Biogen Year In Review.
