March is #SocialWorkMonth. Social workers make up a sizable portion of our workforce, so this month we’d like to recognize a few individuals for their hard work on behalf of family caregivers.
Caregiving plays a powerful role in communities of color. Research has shown that Black family caregivers are more likely to struggle financially, and are more likely to care for individuals with serious health conditions. Black communities are also more likely to take an active role in support of individual family caregivers within their communities. #BlackHistoryMonth
RAND Health has published a new article as part of their Perspectives series: " The Coronavirus Pandemic Highlights Why Family Caregivers Need to Be Integrated Into the Health Care Team." The new article stems from initial research, sponsored in part by Seniorlink, which was published last year.

Seniorlink's Caregiver Homes continues to lead the charge in being awarded the three-year Accreditation status for Case Management with Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Distinction. This is the third time Seniorlink has achieved NCQA accreditation and the second time the company has achieved Case Management with LTSS accreditation since the introduction of the category in 2017.
