CoreCivic is committed to helping people succeed when they return to their communities, and reentry case managers play a big role in the process that helps prepare them for this. From helping returning citizens gain access to identification to working with them to prepare and process applications for essential needs like housing or food assistance, reentry case managers connect these individuals with the resources they will need to succeed once they leave our care. The role of a parent is critical for the development of a child, which is why children of justice-involved individuals are often referred to as hidden victims. When you also consider that 92 percent of incarcerated parents are fathers, it becomes clear just how important it is for fathers to learn how to reconnect with their children after release. To help with this process, CoreCivic utilizes programs like Inside Out Dad. Inside Out Dad is an evidence-based program that helps incarcerated fathers learn how to positively relate to their children. It’s just one of many offerings at CoreCivic facilities that focus on family reunification as a positive tool for effective reentry. "The children of these inmate-fathers will benefit greatly from having their fathers in their lives,” said Gerald Cox, the academic instructor of the Inside Out Dad program at Saguaro Correctional Center in #AZ. "I believe this program directly helps with breaking the cycle of incarceration of fathers." Watch the full video to learn more about this life-changing program: https://hubs.li/Q01jXkJL0
