This past weekend, more than 100 DMIers and their guests participated in the 2025 Greater Washington Region Heart Walk. By Walk Day, DMIers had raised $56,500 to fight heart disease and stroke—diseases that kill hundreds of thousands of Americans each year. Huge thank you to our partners, clients, and colleagues who helped us raise money to make an impact in our community. During his remarks, our CEO and 2025 Heart Walk Chair Rocky Thurston gave a passionate speech about why the event is so important and congratulated the DMV area on raising $2.1 million to support life-saving research. On October 21, DMIers gathered in our McLean office to celebrate Diwali! Diwali, known as the festival of lights, is India's most significant holiday of the year. Diwali celebrates the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness. People celebrate with traditional food, fireworks displays, and time with family. “The DMI office came alive in celebration of Diwali. The spirit of togetherness and cultural sharing was truly inspiring. Proud to be part of a team that combines hard work with heart,” said Viji Dey, Senior Director, Human Resources.

We’re proud to share that DMI CEO Rocky Thurston has been named Chair of the 2025 Greater Washington Region Heart Walk! The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds and awareness to fight heart disease and stroke. As Chair, Rocky will help bring together organizations, families, and individuals across the region to support this important cause. “Many of DMI’s employees have been impacted by heart disease—whether through family, friends, or personal experience,” Rocky said. “It’s a powerful reminder that this disease impacts many lives, and I’m proud to support the Heart Walk and the mission of the American Heart Association.” The Greater Washington Region Heart Walk will take place on Saturday, November 1 at the National Mall in Washington, DC.
