During a critical time in education, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing both adult and youth literacy learners today. We spoke with students of all ages, parents and teachers to assess the gap between their needs and the resources that are currently available. Last week we celebrated the opening of our first store in Idaho, increasing our continental presence to 47 states. Each Women’s History Month, Dollar General pauses to formally celebrate women making history and their contributions to the world. At Dollar General, we believe it is important to champion women at every stage of their career and life by providing opportunities for growth and support. Our Women’s Professional Network (WPN) is our largest Employee Resource Group at Dollar General. Comprised of women and their allies the WPN focuses on empowering women to advance members’ personal and professional lives through diversified connections, leadership opportunities and educational experiences.
