Meet Kristin! As a kid, Kristin dreamed of being an Olympic swimmer. Today, the five-time American Paralympic swimming record holder and a renowned advocate for disability rights is part of the FEMA team with a career in public service. Kristin serves as a preparedness officer for our Transportation Security Grant Program. The work she does helps protect public transportation agencies, critical infrastructure and the traveling public from acts of terrorism. “My passion for working at FEMA derives from my interest in securing our nation, particularly vulnerable groups, against foreign and homegrown terrorism, and the fluid environment of homeland security.” #WeAreFEMA

Meet Ed! Ed is the Program Inclusivity Analyst for the Office of Disability Integration and Coordination focusing on Individual Assistance Programs. He provides information across the agency to ensure our staff deliver services equally to all people, including those with disabilities. He also provides solutions to accessibility issues that allows survivors with disabilities equal access to services needed to recover after a disaster. ?As someone with a disability whose spent years advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, it?s a great honor to be a part of the solution and work to ensure inclusion, as opposed to advocating for exclusivity after the fact. It gives me great fulfillment to help survivors with disabilities be able to embark on an accessible recovery journey. In addition, seeing my FEMA colleagues empowered to serve survivors with disabilities by the tools, trainings and guidance I provide makes me feel like I?m making my mark on the world.? #IAMFEMA
