Fast & Curious: TU Darmstadt Racing Team e.V. (DART) visits Freudenberg in Weinheim When engineering talent meets cutting-edge technology, innovation thrives! In April, the Technische Universität Darmstadt racing team visited our Weinheim headquarters and enjoyed interactive innovation exhibits, a detailed tour of our Simmerring production and valuable networking opportunities with Freudenberg specialists and alumni. A special part of the program was the “Engineering Design Event”, which evaluates the engineering quality of the racing cars developed by the participants. The DART team members were given the opportunity to present their technical concept and design decisions in front of the Freudenberg expert jury. We warmly welcome 70 new trainees to our state-of-the-art training center at our global headquarters in Weinheim, Germany! This center offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology preparing our trainees for an evolving world of manufacturing that's transforming through the increased use of artificial intelligence. With a commitment to education and innovation for nearly two centuries, we recognize these young talents are the future of our company. Since 1938, Freudenberg has supported this training model. For Hashtag#Pride season, Freudenberg hosted its first major Pride event with around 600 participants. Under the motto "Progress, Prosper, Pride" René Heilmann led through the event where colleagues shared their inspiring personal stories. Marion Prager sent welcome greetings and underlined Freudenberg's commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: "We want to create an environment in which everyone feels valued, respected and heard." Guest speaker Rene Staebe highlighted the importance of employee resource groups and allyship in making a significant contribution to a lively and open working environment. Our colleagues Vicky Jandreau, Rio Barth and Linda Terhorst shared their personal stories about inclusion and underlined the importance of allies and their positive impact on a positive corporate culture. Artificial intelligence can solve problems and create opportunities – but how exactly? At this year’s R&D Talk, "Discovering AI for Freudenberg," more than 200 colleagues came together to discuss the latest technology trends, focusing on collaboration and cutting-edge research. Besides insightful presentations, the attendees had the opportunity to network, share ideas, and learn more about Freudenberg AI projects. These projects range from automated design optimization, which increases efficiency and improves product performance, to Injection Molding AI, which addresses the challenge of waste reduction and maintaining constant quality levels. What role do companies play in climate protection? What makes a good leader? How does energy-efficient production look in action? Students from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) recently explored these questions during their visit to our headquarters in Weinheim, Germany. Sarah O'Hare, Head of Corporate HR & Regional Representative North America, shared insights into Freudenberg's global impact and commitment to sustainability. Dr. Michael Horchler, Director Freudenberg Archive, highlighted the company’s rich 175-year history and innovative recycling efforts – showcasing our journey from a small tannery to a global technology company. Leadership was a key topic, with Dr. Makoto Makabe, Director Corporate Learning & Development, leading a panel discussion on what makes a good manager. At the end, the students were given insights into the energy-efficient production of our Business Group Freudenberg Performance Materials. Joseluis Gonzalez, an IUPUI student, summed it up by saying: "The visit was a complete success.
