Vaccine clinics for staff and residents started almost 2 weeks ago. So far, so good! In this week's video, Dr. Rich Feifer describes how long it will take to start to build immunity after receiving the vaccine, reinforcing the need to continue to wear masks, practice good hand hygiene, and stay physically distant. Dr. JoAnne Reifsnyder addresses how we continue to build vaccine acceptance through education, fulfilling our core values of respect, appreciation, honesty, and integrity. #ThisIsOurShot #CommunityImmunity

An annual celebration of African-American culture held from December 26 to January 1, culminating in a communal feast called Karamu, usually held on the 6th day. It was created by Dr. Maulana Karenga, based on African harvest festival traditions from various parts of Africa, including West and Southeast Africa. Kwanzaa was first celebrated in 1966. The seven principles (nguzo saba) of Kwanzaa utilize Kiswahili words: unity (umoja), self-determination (kujichagulia), collective work and responsibility (ujima), cooperative economics (ujamaa), purpose (nia), creativity (kuumba), and faith (imani). Each of the seven candles signify the principles. #HappyKwanzaa
