#Congratulations to Chris Bradley, Licensed Nurse Assistant, from Clipper Harbor Center in Portsmouth, NH on being named our Compassionate Caregiver of the Year (pictured with Sean Stevenson, SVPO and JoAnne Reifsnyder, Chief Nursing Officer). From Center selection committees, to regional selection committees and celebrations, our Executive Leaders followed the inspiring profiles of our company’s caregivers. Chris Bradley, a nurse assistant at Clipper Harbor for 7 years, is the epitome of compassionate caregiving. He leads with his heart and sees the person behind the care needs. Chris can often be seen on one knee so that he can look eye-to-eye with residents. He communicates at the speed of the resident. Words, a kind hand, a smile or truly seeing the resident (not just looking at them) are a few of the ways Chris shares his positive spirit with residents. One resident’s daughter said, “He has so many ideas about how to enrich their lives. I couldn’t ask for a more caring person to be there for my mom.” #genesishealthcare #genesiscareers #caredeeply
We practice good hand hygiene, which includes handwashing and alcohol based hand rub each and every day. But October 15th is a day we can focus and reinforce the need for handwashing and hand hygiene in general. Handwashing is a practical skill that can keep us safe from germs that cause infectious diseases like norovirus and the flu. In fact, research shows handwashing at key times can prevent 1 to 3 diarrhea-related sicknesses and 1 in 5 respiratory infections. More time spent washing hands means less time being sick and spending quality time with friends and loved ones. By making handwashing a lifelong habit, we help keep ourselves and those around us healthy You can access the CDC's Handwashing: Clean Hands Save Lives website for additional information and resources. for more information, visit http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMYqo #GlobalHandwashingDay

#Congratulations to the Social Services Department at our Burlington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington, VT, for being named Vermont Health Care Association's 2019 Outstanding Social Services Team of the Year! The team is comprised of Victoria Pollard, Jessy Snyder, and Allison L'Esperance, who all began working at the Center earlier this year. All three are also new to long-term care, so their tremendous impact on our patients and residents in a short period of time is even more commendable. Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will. When you doubt, your mind believes what you feel and think. You start to program yourself that your dreams are impossible to achieve. Failure typically motivates you to try harder so that you succeed the next time you attempt to reach your dreams. If you keep moving forward you WILL eventually succeed at reaching the prize. #MotivationMonday
