Genworth is proud to support Virginia Commonwealth University’s (VCU) Mobile Wellness Program in the School of Nursing, and the Department of Gerontology’s administrator-in-training mentored internship program in the College of Health Professions! Both programs ensure that VCU students gain real-world experience, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to lead efforts in accessing and improving care for older adults.

For the third year in a row our Richmond office has been named a Top Workplace by the Richmond Times-Dispatch! This recognition is an encouraging reminder of how far we’ve come and the important work ahead as we help our customers and their families navigate the aging journey with confidence. Thank you to all our Richmond associates for all you to do make Genworth and CareScout a great place to work!
At Genworth and CareScout, our 13 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) connect co-workers who share affinities, characteristics, life experiences, or who are interested in supporting these groups as allies. Earlier this month, our ERG leaders gathered in our Richmond office for sessions focused on professional development, networking, and strategic planning. They also wore their craziest socks as part of the Lots of Socks campaign to raise awareness for World Down Syndome Day (today, March 21). Thank you ERG leaders for all you do to help us learn about and celebrate the culture, heritage, and contributions of the communities you represent!
In honor of Women’s History Month, our women’s employee resource group (CREW) invited Wendy Gates Corbett to discuss the importance of creating a culture of belonging where associates feel connected, respected, and protected. Wendy champions cultures of caring through her professional speaking, consulting work as the President of Signature Presentations, and as an Adjunct Professor of Management and Leadership at Duke University. Her bestselling book, The Energy of Belonging: 75 Ideas to Spark Workplace Community, was selected as CREW’s first book club read. We thank Wendy for coming to the Genworth office to chat with us. Congratulations to David Leonard, Genworth CSIRT Incident Responder, for being recognized as the Peter Paul Development Center 2024 Volunteer of the Year! David volunteers with Peter Paul to help students in Richmond’s East End with math homework, and he helps host Genworth-sponsored learning sessions that encourage students to get creative with STEAM-inspired arts and crafts.
Our Asian American Pacific Islander employee resource group (ASCEND) is helping us celebrate Lunar New Year across the Genworth offices. 2025 is the Year of the Snake, which symbolizes wisdom and transformation. To commemorate this festive occasion, ASCEND has provided a variety of snacks, teas, and red envelopes with small gifts inside to represent good luck and blessings.
We are excited to share that Genworth has been named a U.S. News & World Report Best Company to Work for in the Overall, Insurance, In the South, and Supporting Family Caregiving categories!
