In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, the Women’s Leadership Initiative decided to organize a sock drive in support of a woman owned and founded nonprofit organization. Knock Knock, Give a Sock (KKGS) aims to humanize homelessness one sock at a time by turning transactions of sock donations into meaningful interactions where neighbors can get to know one another. Their vision is a world where individuals of all socio-economic backgrounds share, listen, and ultimately know their neighbor, leading to stronger communities. Adina Lichtman, the owner and founder, shared an experience that stood out to her while running the organization: “At one KKGS Meet Your Neighbor dinner, a woman stood up and said, ‘In society I feel I am either annoying or invisible, but here -- here -- I feel like I am part of society.’ It was a moment where I felt like what I was building was really making the impact I set out to make.”
H2M went purple! Thank you to our Women’s Leadership Initiative for organizing this show of support for International Women’s Day and giving us the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women within the firm and beyond. #H2M #internationalwomensday #WomensHistoryMonth #womensleadership

Today is Day Four of Engineers Week we will be highlighting our Environmental Discipline: Preserving and Protecting Communities, from Brownfields to Playing Fields When it comes to environmental services, H2M is accustomed to tackling tough problems. Like how to remediate a community park located just across the street from a high school—orchestrating the removal of nearly 180,000 tons of contaminated soil using 5,300 dump trucks without causing a single delay or inconvenience to school buses or students. Or how to remedy and redevelop the grounds of an abandoned 17th-century lace mill that’s about to be named a hazardous waste site. At H2M, we are in the business of meeting challenges, preserving the environment, and protecting communities. We turn brownfields into playing fields, improve indoor air quality, and monitor the safety of groundwater. Whether we are conducting monthly sampling, completing a due diligence evaluation, or designing a chemical storage tank, our responsive and dedicated team will make any environment work (and play). #environment #environmental #engineers
