The NNSA has awarded the Y-12 National Security Complex Fire Department an Excellence Award in recognition of the teamwork, agility in facing unprecedented challenges, and sustained commitment to safety, quality, and performance excellence demonstrated throughout the duration of the project.
Staff Water Engineer Heather Evangelista, EIT described her Mentorship Program experience in three words: connection, support, and guidance. Under the mentorship of Senior Vice President and Director of Construction Services William Rockensies, P.E., she achieved profound personal and professional growth that set her on a path to success.
H2M architects + engineers presented scholarships to high school seniors who are planning on enrolling in science, technology, engineering, architecture, or math (STEAM) majors in college. Twelve students from Long Island, Westchester County, and New Jersey each received $1,000 to further their academic careers. Many also received citations from their local elected officials.
For the second year in a row, H2M has initiated its company-wide cornhole tournament, and this year we have over 100 competing players! Throughout the months of June and July, H2M staff are taking part in several friendly matches of cornhole to reveal winners in every participating region. As we gear up for this year's tournament finals on August 6, we're reminded of the importance of employee well-being and building connections. Good luck to all competing this year!
This week, the H2M office in Melville was thrilled to host Ollie's Angels Animal Rescue (OAAR), bringing joy to our employees with a visit from the adorable puppies and dogs available for adoption. Some of the furry friends have already received adoption requests. The atmosphere was filled with wagging tails and happy smiles as our team got a well-deserved mental health break to interact with these companions.
The Patchogue-Medford Public Library recently hosted its grand opening ceremony for the new Medford Branch! It was an honor for us to play a role in such a valuable community project. We are grateful for the tremendous community response to the Medford Branch thus far, and we hope that the residents of Medford continue to enjoy all of the amenities of the Patchogue-Medford Public Library for decades to come!
