I grew up in a small town in upstate New York with a pretty conservative upbringing, yet I knew I was different from an early age. It wasn’t until I was in college that I began embracing that difference. But it’s through these obstacles I’ve faced and the friends I’ve made along the way that I’ve grown to love myself for who I am and live my life openly. This past weekend, IKEA U.S. traveled to Washington, D.C. to join the Capital #Pride Parade! 🏳️🌈 We walked alongside the #LGBTQ+ community, allies and friends for an incredible day filled with radiating energy and fun, including our own furnished booth for our #DMV friends to decorate with encouraging messages. Thank you to everyone who joined us during the parade, stopped by to make their mark in our booth and helped us advocate for equality and celebrate love!
