Facilities leaders’ recent quick response to a restroom flooded with smelly sewage at the Spring Valley Women’s Health Clinic in Nevada kept the clinic open to see almost 100 patients. “I saw Geno walk in, and he jumped in saying, ‘Let’s just figure this out,’” says Sharon Lawrence, practice manager. “It just made it better to have additional support from our leadership team and facilities. I called my director and said, ‘He’s over here running the wet vac. We’re going to stay open. It was huge having their presence here and not having to worry about what this looked like on the other side. I can’t say enough about Geno and his hands-on approach.” “It was yet another example of Geno and his team partnering with the practices to support patient care,” says Sloan Albert, operations vice-president in Nevada. “They’re consistently responsive and customer focused. Geno personally came out to the site to ensure work was done quickly and the fewest possible patients were impacted by the flooding.”

Intermountain Healthcare (formerly SCL Health) has awarded a $250,000 grant to support and celebrate Tepeyac Community Health Center’s project to build a new clinic and expand access to primary medical, dental, and behavioral health services for uninsured and underinsured individuals in Denver, CO and surrounding areas. With continued support and partnership from Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO, Tepeyac Community Health Center has provided healthcare and key services to the Latino community in the Denver metro area for the past 25 years. According to the 2021 census, 29% of Denver residents are Hispanic/Latinx – and are Denver’s largest minority population. The new Tepeyac clinic will triple the number of patients Tepeyac can serve each year—currently, these patients may not have a primary care provider or may be waiting for a long time for an appointment to see a doctor. Tepeyac’s expanded facility is scheduled to open in early 2023 and will continue to provide resources to communities and work to remove barriers to healthcare.
DISCOVERY Children’s Museum in Las Vegas, NV hosted a grand opening ceremony in the Museum’s ECO CITY gallery today to unveil its new exhibit offering children and their families a chance to learn, play and explore the field of healthcare. Zipline, the global leader in instant logistics and delivery, recently announced it is beginning deliveries of prescriptions and medical products directly to select Intermountain Healthcare patients’ yards in the Salt Lake Valley area, and that interested customers can sign up to use the service and place orders. Zipline’s Utah delivery system will expand gradually over five years and will eventually be capable of delivering directly to more than 1 million people. With this new partnership, the companies are making healthcare more accessible, convenient, and better for the environment. Intermountain Healthcare is the first health system west of the Mississippi River to use Zipline to bring prescriptions and over-the-counter medications to patients’ homes via Zipline’s on-demand logistics system, which includes fully electric, autonomous aircrafts. This enables Intermountain to provide people-first care to its patients, in-person or virtually, and ensures patients can receive support in a convenient and accessible way.
Todd and Andie Pedersen have given a transformative gift of $35 million dollars supporting Primary Children’s Hospital “Primary Promise” to create the nation’s model health system for children. The press conference this morning was held at the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus in Lehi, Utah, which has hit the halfway mark in its construction. Businesswoman, civic leader, and philanthropist Gail Miller said it best - “This new hospital campus is a key piece of a much larger vision, and it’s going to distinguish Utah and the Intermountain area as a model for integrated, high quality pediatric care and will demonstrate to the rest of the nation Intermountain’s commitment to caring for the most vulnerable among us.” In honor of this generous gift, the patient tower at the Miller Family Campus will be named the Todd and Andie Pedersen Patient Tower.
