What we do beyond the worksite is just as important as the project itself. Our team on the Francis Scott Key Bridge Rebuild recently committed to “adopting a mile” around the project site — keeping a stretch of road clean through regular litter pickups and community cleanups. For the duration of the project, the team will come together quarterly to uphold this commitment and encourage local involvement. “Participating in the ‘Adopt a Mile’ event not only helps clean our community, but it also strengthens the connection between Kiewit and the neighborhoods where we’re building this vital project. By investing our time and effort, we show our commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier future for everyone. This initiative builds a sense of pride and belonging in the community. There’s something fulfilling about giving back — it changes the way you view your work and the place you do it.” – Kiewit Senior Safety Manager Mohamed Higazy

Falls from height remain one of the most serious and most preventable risks on our jobsites. Today, as part of the National Fall Protection Stand Down, we're emphasizing the crucial importance of fall protection. Across our organization, teams are pausing to have the right conversations about reviewing their plans and permits and ensuring all fall hazards are properly identified and mitigated. Being a Safeguard Hero means more than awareness — it means speaking up and making sure every plan is backed by action.

We're taking a look back at a project that's made a lasting impact in Omaha — and across the Midwest. The Hubbard Center for Children at Children's Nebraska is a 427,000-square-foot expansion that brings critical care and comfort to families throughout the region. The project expanded essential services, including the emergency department, pharmacy, NICU and radiology department, while also creating family-focused amenities like outdoor gardens and a solarium to support healing and hope. One standout success: through real-time estimating, the client saved $50 million on the overall cost of construction and reduced construction time by 40 days. We're proud to have served as the construction manager for this state-of-the-art facility that continues to care for the region's youngest patients and their families.

15 years strong — and still one of the Best Workplaces in Canada! 🍁 We’re proud to share that Kiewit has once again been named a Best Workplace in Canada by the Great Places to Work® Institute — a recognition based on feedback from our own people, a thorough review of our workplace culture and confidential employee survey results. This milestone wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our teams across Canada. Thank you for making Kiewit a place we’re proud to call our workplace.

Kiewit is excited to have been selected as the construction manager for the I-55 Bridge replacement project by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). This project represents a historic investment in the state’s infrastructure, supported by TDOT and the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), making it the single-largest transportation investment in Tennessee state history. The new bridge will replace the existing 75-year-old structure, enhancing capacity, improving safety and ensuring long-term resilience. "We have a long history of safely building and engineering complex bridge and transportation projects across the United States, including in both states. We are excited to bring our experience and skilled workforce to this project, which importantly connects both states for people within and traveling through the region." - Executive Vice President Dave Miles
