It was an honor to sponsor the Lam Research Technical Symposium in partnership with Tsinghua University in Beijing earlier this month. The two-day event was filled with keynotes, technical presentations, and panel discussions from academic and industry leaders focused on next-generation technologies in the semiconductor industry. Thank you to our partners MIT News, UC Berkeley, Stanford University, and Tsinghua University for this great opportunity to collaborate and learn from each other!
This month Lam Research will join industry experts from around the globe for the Americas International Meeting on Electrochemistry and Solid State Science. We’ll be sharing advances in electrochemical and solid-state science and technology. Meet Lam Intern Sonia Cheraga! At Lam Research BVBA, a subsidiary of Lam Research in Belgium, she worked on metrology, and learned “how to be confident in [her] work and take initiative.” Her advice to future interns is to not be afraid to ask questions, because colleagues are always happy to help and often have interesting and useful experiences to share. We agree, Sonia!
We're celebrating the 60th anniversary of the integrated circuit! We’ve come a long way since Jack Kilby’s version that connected components and semiconductor materials with “flying wires.” Read today’s blog to see a timeline of innovation: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQkAV

Meet Lam Intern Mingxiu Sun from NYC! He is currently a Master's student at MIT studying mechanical engineering where he co-founded and managed an education electronics packaging factory. At Lam, he worked on the Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) New Product Transition team and conducted research to "bridge the gaps between [the] product design team and customers’ fabs on a long-term strategic level." We wish him the best with his future endeavors!
Earlier this month, over 400 kids (ages 8 – 18) explored our Fremont and Livermore campuses on Bring Our Children To Work Day! Lam Research staff guided them as they toured our facilities, participated in hands-on activities, and shadowed their parents at work. We can’t wait for the next time they come to visit! In the meantime, check out some photos from this year’s events.
