Assisting the FAA is a key reason Qina Diao wanted to come to MITRE. "I knew that, at MITRE, I could push my research forward to tackle real-world problems," she says. "And that I would be able to have a direct impact."
MITRE's design thinking approach aims to improve veterans' transition experience by reducing social isolation. It's a potentially life-saving intervention.
"Whatever the challenge, my first act is to call up a diverse set of very smart, competent individuals and create a diverse team that will work together. The team is the real power behind the solution," says Dr. Jay Schnitzer, MITRE chief medical and technology officer.
"One thing I love about MITRE is having the flexibility not just to support one sponsor [of a federal R&D center] fully, but to support multiple sponsors, especially those with intersecting challenges," says Lara Suarez, a cyber operations engineer at MITRE.
"In all these projects, MITRE's role is to make sure that the path forward for the use of plasma is determined by data-driven scientific evidence to rigorously answer the important questions regarding safety and efficacy," says Dr. Jay Schnitzer, MITRE’s chief medical and technology officer.
