What a year! Merkle experienced a 21.4% growth over 2013 and continues to be one of the fastest-growing digital agencies in the industry. In 2014, operating income grew more than 55 percent over 2013 levels. The significant year-over-year growth can be attributed to the strong performances of several industry verticals, and reinforces Merkle’s position as the nation’s largest privately-held agency.
Merkle Chairman and CEO David Williams wrote a blog post last week reflecting on Mark Zuckerberg's discussion at Mobile World Congress around his golden rule for hiring employees. In "If it's good enough for Mark, it's good enough for me," David believes Merkle's cultural beliefs share a similarity to Mark's philosophy, and stresses the importance of having a strong culture as the foundation for success at Merkle.
"A strong culture is the foundation of any great company and we all play a role in that. We can’t build a talent factory without great hiring and development and culture sets the tone for all those." Merkle's welcomed Cathie Black, celebrated publisher, businesswoman and writer to address attendees at the first event planned in the series this year. The speaker series, which is one element of Merkle’s Women in Leadership program, started out as an internal initiative that Merkle is now extending to include Merkle clients and industry peers.
