As one in a series of Fall events, Microchip hosted a Health & Lifestyle Expo on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, in its New York office. Employees enjoyed the opportunity to visit exhibits, participate in screenings and learn about services that can lead to better health and overall wellness. Representatives from vision and dental care, chiropractic services, homeopathic medicine and acupuncture, massage therapy, fitness training, and self-defense and kickboxing providers were on site. Music, food and prizes were also included.
These Microchip New York employees recently volunteered to prepare a meal at The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. The House is a “home away from home” for families of children who are hospitalized with serious illnesses, and it offers a secure and comfortable place to live during their time of crisis. Microchip was happy to provide the home-cooked meal and the Company’s volunteers enjoyed putting their cooking skills to good use.

Microchip employees recently enjoyed running in the Austin American Statesman Capitol 10K Corporate Challenge. This is the seventh largest 10K in the nation, with almost 15,000 runners participating this year. Out of the 63 teams who entered the Corporate Challenge, MCHP Austin came in 33rd. They are already looking forward to next year’s race, setting a goal of adding members to the team and improving their individual and team times.
The Microchip team at Fab 4 in Gresham, Oregon, recently celebrated Family Day. Over 700 people attended the event where employees and their families enjoyed a variety of activities including fab tours, robotics demonstrations, sack races and other contests. Food, prizes and other goodies were abundant. Here are some lucky winners picking up their prizes. Microchip also collected over 400 pounds of food for Birch Community Services, a local non-profit serving families in need.
On August 12, 2015, the United States Department of Defense Employer Support of Guard and Reserve representative Pete Pringle and Sergeant Patrick Binks presented the prestigious Patriotic Employer award at Microchip’s Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. This award recognized HR Manager Carly Petrovic and Microchip Technology for “contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force.” Microchip proudly supports our employees in the Armed Services and is honored to receive this prestigious award.
